Found this on the Super Duty forum ( https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...dle-lamps.html ) and added them this week. The plug is already there on some newer trucks just under rear doors on outside of the frame rail. Bought this pigtail thanks to CaptFX4,
Which LED strips did you use from Amazon? I wired up some puddle lights earlier this year, but the stick-on LEDs from Amazon wouldn't stay attached so I eventually took them all off.

(which aren't white), drilled small holes and put stainless steel sheet metal screws to hold them in, I did use 2 screws per light.

I also asked about the Ford Part numbers. I don't believe Ford actually installed or made Puddle Lights for the Super Duties.
I love this mod. I get quite the number of compliments on them. Kind of upset that it took me 2 years to find the post that the connections exist and there is a part number for the male connector.

Chuck,
I agree. It just seems odd that Ford would put the connectors in, but not have an optional part to actually install there. They seem to always want to cut that last $.01. I just dont personally care for the led's when the rest of the truck doesnt have led's. I like the look to match all around.
I am happy with lux lighting. They are expensive, have a magnetic base and work just as well as day I received. This time of year I really like that I can see and get a visual on ice and such. Highly recommend anyone thinking about it jump in.

I went pretty crazy with LEDs. I replaced my headlights, fog lights and clearance lights with LEDs. I also installed 2 light bars behind the grates in the grille which are LED. I'm not crazy about the puddle lights I installed. Lots of compliments though. I think I'll eventually go with these - https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...hip-leds/1084/ They are LEDs as well. With the lower cost of LEDs I'm not sure you'll find incandescent bulbs.
Thanks for posting that up, Rocco and making me aware of these plugs as my 16 Lariat has them. Good job on the blue LEDs.

Thanks for that link, Cangim. Those are US made and well built.
Options, options...
I'm looking at AZLugz's build thread and like the look of the LED strips down the whole side of the bottom of the cab. He went with red which is very sharp. I've been thinking Amber to match close to the running lights.
Does anyone have a link for the magnetic ones? I would prefer that over drilling, if they stay on. I would like to add these to my Platinum as well. I would even swap to the retractable running boards if I could find a reasonably priced set. I love mods like this that add utility.
