Looks like it was cut with a hole saw a long time ago. Maybe to access a bolt or something

Nothing in there except a couple original spot welds for the cowl cap. Thought maybe someone cut it to spray undercoat or something but clean as a whistle. Now I know why I hear so much wind noise when I'm driving!

HIO silver, that was awesome LMAO......perhaps that hole was to run wiring for fog lights or something else way back in the day. My current dents firewall and dash has been butchered with accessory holes like that by previous owners for roof lights, horns, fog lights,, spot lights, etc. Clean the area good with laquer thinner, put a big piece of gorilla tape over it .I never permanently cover them in case I've got to use them again myself.

The hole is factory, but it's missing the rubber plug.

Yeah looks like the hole was stamped. Too clean for a hole saw plus you'd hafta be one determined SOB to remove the dash just to drill I big stoopid hole like that! I got a big expansion plug for it. Do you know if there's one on the other side? Hope not.

I believe there is a matching hole on other side. Should be able to get a light up there and see it. Worst case would be pull glove compartment.

You're correct. The one on the passenger side is where the factory antenna wire passes through.

Yeah it's got the wire.....and another antenna wire going through a hole in the kick panel. Maybe it's an ultra rare dual stereo model! Hahaha

Might this be an antenna wire hole for R/H drive? There are many holes in the frame and elsewhere that are there for left vs right hand drive.

Strange hole

I have seen 2 trucks with factory cb antennas mounted on the left side and both of them routed the cb antenna wire through that hole. Just like the radio antenna on the right side.
