Hello, the other day my wife was driving the truck, it's a 05 f350 6l with auto. I have a sctx4 tuner and a custom tune loaded, a economy/towing tune. There is a big hill before our house and my wife always uses towhaul to go up and down, when she hit the button to turn off tow haul the light started flashing. Once she got home she shut it off waited and fired it back up and everything seems fine. I'm in camp so over the phone I got her to restore the stock program back into the vehicle and that's where we are at. The sctx4 didn't read any codes? Do I nèed to get it scanned by a better device for trans codes? Of course it's coming up to the holidays and the local transmission shop is closed already. I don't want to keep driving it if there's a possibility it could be damaged. Any help would be great. I've read from a few ppl that the custom tune I got does not have a good reputation and it could just be a crappy tune, others say a transmission solenoid. I figured there would of been a code for any malfunction inside the trans.
truck only has 109000kms, had it service 15k ago and it all looked good.
Yes, definitely need to get it scanned. Tow/haul light flashing indicates an issue with the transmission. Could be something relatively minor, like a trans fluid temp sensor, or something bigger. Either way you want to find out so the problem doesn’t turn into needing a new transmission
Ok I did get hold of the local shop, there going to scan the truck tomorrow or Friday. I'm hoping it was just the custom tune. The guys at the shop told me that the tow haul program is all in the computer and if the custom tune wasn't written correctly it could glitch causing a miss shift. I hope there right. Is changing solenoid a big and costly job?

Easy job. Even I did it on one of my Eseries. Just drop the pan and they're right there.
