i go by the philosophy drive it like you stole it lol.. as far as tunes go i only have some SCT "Canned" tunes.. running their street one currently... i can break the tires loose when i want... and she pulls well... used her as the moving truck... i really wish during the one load i had rolled across a set of cat scales to see what she tipped at... bed was half filled with concrete blocks.. 20 landscape timbers and my small trailer stacked on top of all of that in the bed... behind it a 7x16" cargo hauler fully loaded with heavy equipment.. (was probably over the rated capacity of the trailer).. she still pulled it like it was nothing...
They’re definitely stout trucks that’s for sure. I’ve pulled across a scale with my gooseneck cattle trailer grossing 25800lbs once. Truck pulled it really good to my surprise. I do need to update the brakes on my truck though, it still has the stock size rotors and it can be a bear to get stopped sometimes. Especially with the semi truck tires and wheels on it.

do you know if you got ceramics or semi-metalic pads on it?? if theyre ceramics id recommend getting rid of them and going to semi's... i tried ceramics once... nearly ended up in an accident 4 different times because they wouldnt stop the truck at all.. (felt like they were pudding)... put semi-metallics back on problem went away and even with the ABS i can still lock them up solid...
I put hawk ceramics on it with cryogenic treated and slotted rotors. So the semi metallics actually stopped better? I may just try that and see because the way it is now I can’t even get the wheels to lock up at all.
yeah.... i dunno if the hawk ceramics are better than what i had... but they wouldnt stop the truck worth crap... the Semi-metallics i been getting are the Autozone duralast Gold's... they have a nice firm grip to them... im also running cross drilled and slotted rotors in the front but they were Summit brand.. i wish i coulda found ones for the rear... but after last time i had the rear apart i dont really ever want to mess with taking that massive thing off again... (had issues with the inner hub seal failing)...
what kind of “toy” are you looking for? If you don’t mind

Marty got it. Looking for a bunk house camper. Prefer travel trailer I think, since it leaves the bed open, and my big truck is 30 years (give or take) old, and I don't want to have to pay extra in case if (or when) it breaks down. They have a floor plan with 4 bunks in the back, though two would work, as long as one of those is a full size bed, I think. Marty, that really short one we looked at yesterday had me circle the block around your house. I'd have stopped in, but Cat's kids were back at my place alone. So we wanted to get back to them. It was in ok shape, very clean, but the floor in the bathroom was soft, and it was small. I think too small.

a 5th wheel isn't a bad option, if it has the right configuration. Finding most fivers are setup for 2, and not a family. Since we plan on spending two weeks in it this summer, we need at least a couple of bunks in the back of the unit.

I don't mind bringing it to the camp out, Hey if you or Marty have time, lets start checking the Badin Group site's to see what weekend it's available in April\May time frame. Be nice to nail that weekend down. I know there was a week Marty won't be able to make it. So let's avoid that week.

Looks like I'm going to be getting started finally on my 73. Have parts in the mail to create an enclosed cab which the dog can't enter from through the floorwells. Then I'm getting snooty and putting some new weather seal on to attempt to keep the majority of the elements out. Some work was meant to take place this weekend but my darling daughter has decided to try to pry out her own eyeball with her thumb, such are the best laid plans.
What, No more Mustang work? You finally get it done or say to **** with it?
Oh and Sparky, you just need a bigger wrench!!!! A really big wrench.
Alright, well I'm back in the shop today. Gotta bump the big trailer out of the way, get a couple more clamps on the exhaust, then I'm pulling the big truck out, and letting it run for a few hours, maybe getting Wesley's bed topper mounted. Hope it'll still fit in the shop with that on there, it's gonna be a tight squeeze, height wise

Yep, so the one's I'm looking for sleep 9-10, Which means they have 2-4 bunks, and a queen. Add in two on the dinette, and 2 on the couch and it'll bring the number to 10. But i'm trying to avoid using the couch or the dinette for the kids. Might put Wesley on that to get him out fishing some this summer with us. Or anyone else that wants to make it. Would like to hit Jordan Lake in February, and maybe again in march for a night or two, and just to test things out. Nice and close. Fishing and such to keep the short people entertained.
Got out to the shop some this morning. Finished tightening up the exhaust. Think there is a spot that I would like better if it was welded. But oh well. Going to run through all the basics of getting it state inspected see if anything would fail, and I'd really like to get the cap on it, but all I have for help here is the boy, who is 12, and isn't strong enough yet to lift it. But boy has he worked hard this morning.
Starting this morning I Flushed the power steering system, removed the foil insulation from the CAC pipes and finished and painted them, installed a coolant filter and turned the ebpv into an exhaust brake with a torque converter lockup switch. I’ve had a productive day, how about you guys?
