HPOP screen

I ordered an IPR stainless screen to put in my truck, but then decided to go ahead and get the BPD oil cooler. It has a screen in the oil block. Would it be ok to put the other one in to or would that cause problems?

I don't know what you mean by a screen in the oil block, can you take a picture? I would definitely run the screen in the HPOP sump if that's what you're asking.

I would not bother with the OEM screen if you put the BPD one in. The OEM one does tear. If a piece breaks off, it could lodge and cause problems.

But they ran the twisted wire thru the holes, defeats the purpose of twisting the wire.

The correct way to safety wire and the way we use it on aircraft.

I did not look close enough the first time. But your quite I missed that.
Half assed ****ty job by someone that does not know what he is doing.

We were not allowed to use a twisting pliers at school until the second year. 0.041 will rip you a new one if you don't bend it in and it will also leave marks
on the fingers after doing the same set of prop bolts 6 or 7 times. OUCH I still recall that day. 0.025 would also get you sore being so small.
I liked the mid size at 0.032 It was easy to handle and formed without leaving deep groves in the fingers.
Who ever did the wring must of been thinking to the zip speed wire. Have not used it myself but I hear that some places hate it because some contractors
don't clean up the cut ends like they should. Nothing like the FOD issue coming off an aircraft that was just serviced by Joe's Happy Go Lucky Plane Service.

I was about to hit upon the wire install too, although I don't have the training you guys do.

BD is not perfect. Over on the org they did this write-up about differences in head gaskets and it started to get me second guessing my engine work. I remembered FelPro saying they made their gaskets thicker to compensate for aftermarket machining but when I looked up the data from that work it didn't show any difference, the FelPro was the same. I contacted the guys at FelPro and not only did engineering state theirs was 0.010" thicker, tech support even rechecked with a mic and sent me the image. I then triple checked one myself, they are 0.010" thicker and allows me to use the Colt Cam. I then asked FelPro if they ever changed the thickness and they said no.

So here is this whole production of photos and a spreadsheet of checking head gasket differences in the tech folder and it's not right for lack of correct micrometer readings or addition. You can't trust any of it.

FelPro sent image.

Oh I see what you mean now. It wouldn't matter if you ran the IPR one or not. I'd probably just sell it.

This is why I operate on that old Russian proverb, Trust but Verify.
