There is no such thing as a "best manual transmission".
To get close, you need to tell us what you are going to be doing with the truck. Do you want a granny low for rock crawling? Overdrive for the highways? Would you like to have the gear ratios closer together? What size engine? Running a blower or turbo?
To make matters worse, the FE series has its own bellhousing bolt pattern.
I'm stepping out here, and hoping someone else will have a more complete answer.
