CBEAV sorry to of hi jacked your thread did not intend to do that. Joe hope that all these pic's come out they are of the station by me and some of what used to be in the garage next to it. The owners passed away a couple years ago but the daughter is keeping it going I have not been by it in awhile. Also a few miles from it is another old station with old country stores. We need to get Reggie to schedule a short run up here during the July truck show. RT 66 rootbeer A friend thought that Marylin was real . Gary the owner sitting down was a hell of a guy he really enjoyed people coming by .
I want to set something up like that with the pole building in my yard. I am hoping to build a couple of old pumps from scrap metal I have laying around. I love old gas stations. When I was a kid my dad had two gas stations, at different times, both full service, fill gas, check oil and air and wash windows. Later he just owed repair garages without gas. The few times now I walk into an independent repair garage the smells take me back.

Driving over that nice manicured lawn will likely be a no no Bob...
It looks like it is a little under 60 miles from the Ozark Mountain Run show to that site. That would be a pretty full day going there and back from the event.
It would be nice to have a caravan.
This is the gas station my dad operated back in the early '70s. I was about 9-10 years old at the time and spent every minute off of school helping out. I helped pump gas, wash windows, check oil and tire air. The building are still standing but don't quite look the same as 45 years ago. There was an oil changing pit to the left of the building, where the plywood shed is, that had a door leading into the basement of the office. The detached two stall garage had an in ground hoist that would raise a car about 5 feet high and then would rapidly jump a foot or so, making whatever vehicle it was holding jump a bit. It was pretty scary and my dad had the landlord remove it.
