1991 E250 rear clunk

Hello
I have a 91 E250 club wagon. It has a "clunking sound" for lack of better words in the rear area. I have had it fully inspected, bushings, springs and new shocks (old ones were shot). The sound only happens on fairly sharp jolts (pot holes, raised man hole covers etc).
It sounds like a small load of loose lumber that jumps up and lands on bed. Sorry for weird description only way I could describe in words.
Also checked doors and flip open windows but no luck
Any idea's would be appreciated.

Its probably the body mounts as Conanski suggested. Ive got a 94 and I have very loud slamming when I hit bumps and I am sure its the body mounts and suspension rubber, They are hard as a rock.

Thank you all for your reply.
Is it a difficult job to replace the body mounts on my 91 E250 ?
My van is fully carpeted and Camperized on the interior.
Thank you again
Cheers
