heat/ac not working

heat/ac not working
In my 1997 f150 single cab 5 speed the heat and ac does not work. It was working fine and then it quit then came on 30 seconds later and then died the next day again. Later that day I hit a bump and it came back, Once I turned the truck back on I could not get it to work. any ideas on how to fix this or what to check.

the heat is controlled by a damper that mixes HOT and COLD air inside the duct. There is an electric motor that positions the damper where you want it. There is a small gear box that drives the door... either the gear box, the conneting arm, or the door is probably broken and bouncing around. This is called the BLEND DOOR. you can Google it...
