have a 1999 eddie bower 4x4... truck has great ac and great heat.hears the problem..... ill be driving the truck with the ac on and it's working great then all of a sudden it starts blowing heat and i cannot get the ac to come back on. while the front vents are blowing heat the rear vents are blowing cold..then when i let the truck sit for a few day and i get back in the truck its blowing cold again up front. and i can drive the truck for a week or so then the heat come back on.... it seems like the heat door is opening while the ac is on... i looked behind the control panel and saw that there are vacume hoses red,blue.white.yellow.ect does anybody know what color hoses run what in the system.. any help would be great.
Sounds like you have a bad blend door actuator. Never actually had one apart but you described exactly what would happen if the blend door actuator went bad.
The mode door is fine because the airflow is not changing location.
I bet if you take the glovebox out you will be able to see what's goin on in there and switch from heat to cold a few times and you will see which actuator it is.
If the issue is with the front, it is the axle on the blend door, not the actuator. If it is a problem in the back it is the blend door actuator. To fix the front you need to remove the dash or go through the glove box with a solution like the Heater Treater.
what is heater treater? and can i get too the blen door axel through the glove box? thanks for the fast reply i live in florida and it is hotter than dragon **** out hear. 96 out today and no a/c.
well he has the climate control so that means he has 2 systems one that works AC/Heat for the passengers and another is for the front drive so both side get there own climate but as far as the info u gave us it not the air and ac acting up it might be actuator as alwaysfords41 said...
