I have a 1988 big bronco that someone has cut and spliced back the wires (incorrectly) to the plug that you hook up the code scanner tool too. I have searched google high and low trying to find a diagram showing the wire color and placement of wires in the plug with no luck, I have a Red engine light on and engine is running rough at low RPM's but can not even do the test with a jumper wire due to all the wires being cut. If anyone has a pic or post that will help me it will be greatly appreciated.
The Red Engine light is not an indication of a code or issue with the electronic engine controls. A Red Engine light is triggered by low oil pressure or engine coolant overheating.
Yes you are correct about the red light. Oil sending unit wire was disconnected ,once i repaired it the red light went away. I was able to find another 88 and got the EEC connector off of it and connected it to my wiring harness as it should be and now my scanner works great. Thanks for all the help offered up here you guys are great.
Vinny is the smart one with the pretty pictures for this vintage truck/Bronco.

cemcjoe, don't let Randy kid you, I've learned loads of info from him over the years, and have robbed plenty of the photos from him....
