Hello all
So tossing around several ideas for my truck along with being a fan of old school tech I like the idea of a carb 460 c6 divorced 205 swaped into my 96 f250 460 SD efi/ e4od. I know it is going back in time but for simplicity, cost and tuning sake that is what I have come up with. The question is has anyone else done this swap. If so what was needed. I know three custom shafts crossmembers for trans and transfer case, fuel regulator, new distributor, linkages. I am assuming much more.
Also is thare any cheaper options (different transmissions)
The power train is tired at 1/4 a million miles
I’m looking to make 400 hp and 500 ft lbs which from what I read is to much for a stock e4od. A c6 , in its simple form is cheaper to make it handle that power. I always liked the package (460 carb, c6 205) and wanted to build something different

The carb just comes from personal preference
I call BS. A well built E4OD can handle your power requirements.
Yes I have no doubt that thare are options that can handle that power but once again it’s a trans that I always preferred over the electric shift along with the head ache of trying to make it work with a carb swap and all done on a relative budget
I think it would be a pretty easy swap EXCEPT for your xfer case choice. I would go with the BW1356 you already have which is used F150-350 so it's tough enough, and much easier and cheaper since you won't have to remake your xfer case shift linkage and mounting.
