WaveRider Ranger: Hot or not?
WaveRider Ranger: Hot or not?
If I were this guy, I would have started with a Ranger Raptor, because you can get them Down Under. But I'm not an Aussie reality TV host, so what do I know? So what do you think? Hot or not? More pictures here.
Ford may be working this to their monetary advantage...more I think about it the more I think that they will offer a "Raptor kit" through their high end dealers and such. Possibly either as a parts kit or a dealer installed option.
It took 2 model years for Ford to start building the aluminum Raptor (aluminum F150 was 2015, aluminum Raptor 2017), so taking a bit of time before a Ranger Raptor introduction makes sense. Getting regular model Rangers onto the streets and sorting them out (including all the stuff that comes from suppliers) is obviously Ford's priority (as it should be).
I'm not much into the tough-looking aftermarket modifications
Also, there are rumors that the new Ranger will only be a 2-year model based on a world-wide redesign, so why not wait a bit before putting out a US Raptor?
2019: Ranger
2020: Bronco (including 6 speed manual trans and 2.7 Ecoboost)
2021: ??? if the above are doing well, won't take much to put Raptor makeup on the Ranger and put 2.7's into them...
