Now that its getting colder, I have noticed that my side few mirrors are heating up and melting the snow off of them. I checked the fuse #39 15A and it looks good. Is there a relay or another way to check to see if current is present at the mirrors? Or is there a replacement (just glass) that can be purchased if that's what I need?
Any advice?
There not melting the snow and ice. Not sure if the mirrors heater elements are working or if I have another problem in my wiring or relay if there is one.
They don’t get real hot. On my 2011, they’ll defrost actual frost (like a rear window defroster - you’ll see the heating element lines). They’ll help loosen ice and snow, but I always have to brush or chip it off. It won’t turn it to water and dripoff
My mirrors get very warm. They actually steam and you can feel the glass get warm.
But I would pop the door panel and get to the mirror plug. With the key on you should have one 12v+ wire (black/white) and a -ground (black) ☆(going by memory on the wire colors, I'll try to confirm). The 12v+ goes to the heater and of course it needs a ground. If you put a test light on the door harness side on those 2 wires it should light. That will tell you the circuit is working.
If that's good then ohm out the heater side of the harness.
heres the plug.
I've seen people on YouTube pop the glass out and have the wires exposed for the heated mirror., but that was on cars not ford trucks.
Now when i do find that there is no power at the heater. where do i look next ?
If no power at the plug then work upstream. Check the relay for function. If relay is functioning when the key is on then I'd put power to the output side of the relay to see if I then get power to the plug. If NO power still at the plug then I'd suspect a broken wire in the door jam rubber boot.
All you're doing is breaking it down systematically to take eliminate items that could be at fault.

Ok now I hear that it does have a relay. Do you know where it is? I could not find it in my manual.
The relay is fed power from the ignition through fuse #27. (Check that fuse)
The relay is a part of the central junction block.
Then from the relay power is sent through fuse #39 out to the mirror.
Did you check for power at fuse #39 with the key on? If theres power there then the relay is fine.
