Motor build
I have a question. Can I use the internals from a 97 powerstroke on an 01?
i cracked the block on mine a while back. Bought another motor. My plan is to use the internals in the other block. And I plan on using as much of the external parts as possible. So basically all I’m using from the newer motor is the block.

I did that when I reringed my motor. The lifter holders are different but as long as you have the ones from the later block all should be good. Just make sure to keep the front covers and pickup tubes the same with the oil pan. I cant remember when they changed them

If the 01 engine is complete (front timing cover, fuel bowl, fuel lines etc) IMO you should go the superduty fuel system, I did it in mine and its worth it, E fuel is nice but its also $$$.
