1996 f250. Driver's side window has been off track forever but would still roll up and down. well the door got slammed too hard and the window glass fell to the bottom of the door. I took the door panel off to lift it back up and put it back on track, but there is no way my hands can fit into the tiny holes. Any tricks on how to get the window out?
A window that moves but window falls is usually the nylon slugs in the gear drive attached to the motor.
I lift the window into the up position & take a pair of needle-nose vice grips & clamp the side track below the horizontal channel that holds the glass.
Drill out 1 of the 2 rivets of the vertical support bar that covers the biggest access hole & rotate it out of the way.
Drill out the rivets that hold the regulator/ motor assembly & unbolt the regulator (scissor & big gear assembly) from the motor while still inside the door rather than trying to take them out together.
Take out motor & disassemble the gear drive & install the nylon slugs.
If one of the vertical channels is loose, you should have access to see where.
