I posted many questions for you trying to help. I have dealt with every issue you think you have and then some.
Yeah, no big and I appreciate the advice. Just not sure at this point I want to keep fscking around with this worn out old 7.3. Cummins is calling my name. I like diesels without a million sensors and computers and whatnot.
They are pretty easy with fresh sensors, but I understand your plight.
I would consider selling your engine with the trans, for a turn key retrofit for someone, and swapping in a 12V with a 47RH. Plus you would not have to buy a controller for the E4OD (like the PCS unit), nor the bellhousing adapter. The 47s are a pretty easy trans to build, if you are into that kind of self punishment like me Just not sure what sort of transfer case you would have to run as I think Dodge's of that era had an opposite side drop.
ICP, IPR, CPS, IDM, PCM...............................What am I missing??? I guess I'm missing 999,995 if you can count the IDM & PCM as sensors.
Now if you want to talk 6.0 then the count will go way up.
I know what your saying though. A cummins swap would be pretty cool, I would like to see how it would do with my 18K 5er. In the mean while I'll stick with my 7.3!
If you did a Cummins with the dodge tranny then get a nv271 from a ford. Gas motor transfer cases seem to go cheap, people don't know they are same as diesels. Change the input to match the dodge for 89 dollars and have a super strong setup.
