i have a 84 6.9 that has a cracked block. this is a all work type of truck whit alot of mods done to it and i was wondering how much stuff would need to be change to put a powerstroke engine in it or should i go with the cummins swap that there is adapters already avalable.

Personaly, I'd go with the Cummins. For a work truck you cant beat the bottom end grunt of a I6 Cummins. It will be easier to swap since complete kits are available pre-made. I'v never seen one for a 6.9-Powerstroke. The Cummins is simple in design and reliable, easy to work on, leavs plenty of room in then engine compartment, and you wont need to keep an eye one SCA levels since they dont need coolent addatives (cavitation isnt a problem).

Dont get me wrong, I love my Powerstroke, but if I was able to or had the oportunity, I'd put the perfect engine inside the perfect truck. I'm half there, I have what I conider to be the perfect truck with the 2nd most perfect engine
