You're probably not in the right forum for that question....

But I'm sure it could be done, especially if you're thinking small block GM, since that's what 99% of the aftermarket seems to be for.

If there's emissions testing where you live it'd never pass.

Cummins swap is common, search around.

Why not just fix/replace the 7.3?

I'd second the fix/replace the 7.3. It's a good motor, relatively cheap to rebuild, and you might not even need to do as much as you think to fix it up -- These things don't /tend/ to grenade or fail catastrophically; they usually just get harder to start over time and lose compression slowly.
IP/fuel issues are usually why a good running engine 'fails' instantly.

If you're going to go to the trouble of replacing the 7.3 with a gas engine then why the hell would you put in a Chevy? Not even from the view of putting a chevy in a ford, but just for the fact that if you put in a Ford engine you would readily have all the swap parts available. I don't see the logic.

We actually probably disappointed him by reacting in a mature manner. He was probably hoping to start a flame war with us all agitated over his idea.

seems like a drive by when they join in the same month it happens (i.e. this was originally posted in march, and he only had one post and never made another post) i dont understand why people choose to waste their time like so, but hey atleast we can show that we are mature and not go into an all out brawl over the dumb idea, hell if we werent mature, my idi into a foxbody thread wouldve gone down hill too fast.........
and too add to that cummins swaps really bother me lol, i cant stand when people do drive by's or start a flame war with how cummins is indestructible

but they are!!! a cummings will get 45 mph while making 1000 hp and 3000 ftlbs torque, and run that way for over 1 million miles. .
and all you have to do to get there is to put a big "C" sticker in the back window, put a 12 inch stack in the bed, and turn up the fuel until it looks like a steam engine going down the tracks.
