Just got the truck back yesterday. The Lee kit is awesome. Just makes it so much easier to turn in parking spots/driveway/etc. Less tiring to drive for sure.
I am still wondering whether to go this route or the RAM assist. I gotta do something soon and I have nothing but time right now. @pirate4x4_camo opinions?

ram assist isnt street legal where I’m at. You might want to check on that to be sure.
That's odd. Wonder what the deal is? I am in Texas, so I am not sure. I don't think they care much here.
A buddy of mine is a cop in Kingsville, TX and he warned me about it when I was on the fence of getting ram assist but then I found Lee’s setup. Unless something changed but that why I said to check it out cause you never know.

Interesting. I wonder who would actually check? Kingsville? Nice area. I'll look into it.
I don't know about that, but The Brad on here has the set up by Redneck steering, I believe it's called there in Texas. It works perfect. He has 35's for tires and they turn great and come back just like stock. Nice set up if I was to run big tires.

My neighbor had that system on his 70 k10 but if the hydraulic fails then there isn’t any back up like the conventional system. You might loose power steering but you’ll be able to muscle your way to safety. Without that back up could be why it’s not street legal. To each there own, it’s your soap after all...lol
My sure about that. They port your pump, so I don't know why you couldn't muscle it the same way you would stock. We have know back up system stock that I am a where of. You get one shot with the brakes then they are gone too.
When my OEM steering gear exploded 3 years ago I had no backup... In addition, I had NO steering or braking because the ATF fluid leaked out of the exploded gear and made both the steering and braking non-existent. This is the first I am hearing about a ram assist being illegal to use, but I would not put anything past the politicians in CA...
WTO (West Texas Offroad) is one of the major ram assist companies and one of the few I would trust. If/when I get rid of the POS AutoZone steering gear I have, WTO is near the top of my list for a replacement.
I'm in TX and run WTOR's RAM. First I'm hearing of any illegal business. Wouldn't think so since WTOR is here as well as PSC, another hydroassist manufacturer. I've hadn't had any run in with the law over it or any hassle with inspections FWIW.
It just adds a few oz of atf to the system, 2 hoses and other than mounting brackets thats it. Mount it out of the way so terrain doesnt take it out but if for some reason it goes out, cap the ports to the box, refill pump with atf if you lost any just like you would if you had a low fluid fault in the stock system and drive home to make your repairs to it if need be. You're back to stock at that point and can wait for any new RAM parts to be shipped even with a usuable truck.
The steering is a dream now turning 35s with a pinky. I owe TheBrad and Pirate4x4 for recommending it to me back when they did.
I think I am sold on the RAM for reliability, replacement of the box, and price. I talked to @akcooper9 about it too. It seems the best decision for my application. I'll keep y'all posted.

ah, yes. Akcooper9 was a big help to me too. Should've gave credit in my post with the others mentioned. May have missed a few others. Forgive my memory if I have.
Hardest part for me was trying to find out how I wanted to mount it. Many options here. Looking forward to your update on how you approach your install.
