I've since had to drive it both days so I haven't been able to just wait 48 hours and see if they're dead again, but since you're going to out me on being such a lazy bum I'm going to go set up the DMM now and look again in an hour. Are you happy now!?!?!
That peer pressure is an SOB! Thanks for confirming. I have the same issue going on and am suspecting the same culprit. Mind if I ask how much repair was?
This time it's fuse #19. Body Security Module (BSM)/4x4 module. Apparently the BSM as it's called in the owner's manual is also called the Vehicle Security Module in other literature.
Can any of you smart connected people confirm that the correct BSM/VSM/CSM for my vehicle is 4C7Z-15604-AC (or I see 15k604/15k602 referenced a lot too...)
I pulled the fuse for this last night because I don't want dead batteries. Plugged it in this morning and saw ~200 milliamps up from ~30. After some time it's dropped back down to 30 so this is intermittent. I did a ton of searching on this and have found a number of hits of people having the same problem, not a single one of them had any resolution.
I don't exactly know if it's the 4x4 module or the BSM/VSM but I'm going on a hunch that the 4x4 module doesn't have any kind of timed sleep mode. I'm not a fan of throwing parts at a problem but on that hunch I ordered the BSM/VSM. $257.50 at the local dealer. I'm going to change it myself, then probably another $100 to have it programmed.
