AC advice

Repaired the leaking pressure line to the rear AC after replacing the filter/drier, orifice tube, and rear expansion valve. I searched for but didn't find a R134 chart that went below 65°F...it was 45° and raining when I charged this one. It's blowing cold and has a good chill coming back to the compressor. I have 26 psi suction and 103 psi pressure with both front and rear AC running on high. Does that sound about right?

Wait for it to warm up and retest. If you charged by an accurate weight, it should be fine.

Pressure readings when it's that cold outside are of minimal usefulness.

.
The weight thing was going well as I was using 12oz cans until I noticed a fitting spewing. After I tightened that up, having no way to know how much was lost, all bets were off. Guess I'll take the gauges with me and check it down there where it'll be in the 70's.

Even a poorly charged system will work okay in the 70's. Now, when it gets into the 90s, it will really manifest if there are issues.

i know how to fill a system, but it is much easier and less frustrating for me to pay my local mechanic 100ish dollars to evacuate and refill the system. that includes the cost of freon too (of which the Ex takes a lot!). he has a pretty nice machine to do all the work. and it is inside a heated shop, so he can actually use the charts etc. about the only thing i don't do myself.

Best to charge by weight and walk away, if there are cooling issues after charging, than there is either an internal refrigerant flow, or or condenser air flow issue. You can try using this chart, it's based on the Evap temp to derive the suction pressure.
