VIN Decode
Have just purchased a 1971 F500 here in Australia, however it is in original LHD form.
VIN is F50BRB41980
Other information I’ve gleaned:
- Model F504
- 6 Cyl
- Manual (4sp?)
- 18000lb (GVW?)
Any assistance would be appreciated

F50 = f500
B = 6 cylinder Engine CID 300-IV
R = built at the San Jose TX USA plant
B41980 = Consecutive unit number (which month and running unit number of when it was built
There is more info from the "Rating Plate" in the door frame area (see attachment if I did it right)
B = 300 1V I-6.
R = San Jose CA (California) Assembly Plant.
B41980 = 1967.
F504 = F500 (gas) .. 18,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
The 4 speed trans would be the New Process 435 .. Warranty Plate TRANS code A
1967: You push the inside handles forward to lock the doors, 1968/72's have door lock *****.
If you need parts for the door, most will be 1967 F100/750 only.
