The fourth digit "E" in your VIN indicates you should have a 361 2V or 4V H.D. V8. Assuming of course your motor and/or driver's door (complete with VIN tag!) hasn't been swapped out sometime during the truck's life.

Hopefully this info. will get you by until a more complete decode becomes available.

FBNengr: No such thing as a VIN tag on these trucks. Beginning in 1980, the VIN tag is located on the left (drivers) side of the dash, visible thru the windshield. Only has the VIN stamped on it.

1963/79: Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch. 1980 thru today: Certification Label glued to the B pillar below the striker plate, or glued to the left door face below the latch.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ggage: Compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the title to see if they match.

People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.
