I did locate the VIN on the frame. Behind the axle, however it started snowing pretty hard and I had to ditch it for now. I will get a pic as soon as I can.
Compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate to the hidden frame VIN to the VIN on the registration/title to see if they match.
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.
Found the VIN on the frame.

It depicts what I was explained that the truck was. However now I have a different issue. The title of the truck is the wrong one for the truck.

Go to the DMV, make sure you get a NICE person and not just someone earning a paycheck, explain to them the situation. Let them know people swap doors all the time, employees don't always know to check frame vin, someone probably entered it wrong and hope they help ya change the VIN on the title to reflect the correct numbers. Just hope the VIN on the frame isn't stolen and that's the reason for the door tag swap.
Or call up the local sheriff and explain the situation. Not really sure the best way to go about it. But if you're that concerned a call to the LEOs will be your safest most law abiding path.
Also someone could've lost the title to the frame vin truck and had a title to a crappy truck so he swapped the door over to the good truck so he could sell it with a title. Who knows! Lots of possibilities.
Best of luck! I stressed out big time over a title issue when I bought my truck outta state. Luckily my PO was super nice and helped get everything straightened out.
