i was wondering if anyone could tell where i would find the vin # on 64 f-100 found a little dataplate on inside of drivers side door it has some #'s but they dont look like vin#. the plate also tells you wb, color , model, body. ive checked glove box, firewall both doors, have heard they are stamped on frame dont know if this is true or not , and i didnt find anything but maybe looking in the worng place.
Your VIN # will start with a F10_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, I think I added too many blanks but you get the idea. The plate you are refering to has the VIN # on the upper left corner, the rest of the plate gives the build up for that particular truck. Another location that will always be found is on top of the passenger side frame rail just below the battery.

That's the VIN plate...inside of drivers door, the actual number will have 10 digits.
If the driver's door is the original, then the door plate will be the VIN for your truck. If the door's been replaced (like mine has), you need to crawl around under the truck and check on the passenger side frame rail (at least, that's where my 66's is located). There are some other posts on this forum with lots of info on VIN and VIN location.
