welcome fordiowan, my first 68 bump came out of Maquoketa, come to find out it spent most of it's life in west michigan where i live, it had some bad rust problems however i turned it into a donor truck, the hood, grille and light bezels were mint condition and moved those to my 68 ranger after chroming the grille and light bezels. what are your long term plans for that truck?

Hi Dave. Thanks. From looking at other bump side trucks, this one is pretty solid. You can't find these old trucks in Iowa in good shape anymore unless they haven't been driven in the winter. I did find a hole on the outside edge of the driver's floor pan but it can be patched pretty easily. Other than that, just the rust in the lower fenders which seems to be common for these trucks. I've always wanted a bump side truck even though I've owned 73-79 trucks. I didn't realize however that 4x4 bumpsides didn't have power steering so that will take some getting used to. Ha! I kind of wanted to find a late 60s bumpside cause I thought it would be neat to have a truck that was built in the 60s rather than 70s. However, I didn't want to pass this one up with it being in as good of shape as it was. For now, I'm just going to drive it and fix whatever small things need fixed. If I keep it long term and don't find a late 60s truck, I'll go ahead and restore it back to it's original light blue color. Bu, that will probably be quite a ways down the road.
