I’ve owned a variety of trucks over the past 10 years. I bought a new 2011 Chevy Silverado LT while owning my 2008’ Powerstroke that never saw winter. The Chevy was an excellent truck that I used for a work truck.
Ride quality of a car, and generally an excellent truck with zero complaints. The only expected issue was towing. The rear suspension on a 1/2 ton can’t handle tongue weight without squatting bad. That was the last of my 1/2 ton truck buying. Still no knock because the Ford or Ram 1/2 ton trucks would have the same issue. I did find the 5.3 worthless. Zero towing torque. 6.2L is a MUST if you expect to tow anything heavy above 50 mph without running 2500 RPM.
The one thing about GM trucks around my area is ROCK solid resale. Bought the 12’ for 27K, received 26K in trade on a new 15’ 2500HD, which I bought at $1,500 under invoice plus 2K in rebates. You can’t beat that...
Going back to Ford in 2020, but would definitely go Ram 2500 if it had the new Ram Limited interior of the 1/2 ton.
the 9 grand more Chevrolet offered me for my 250 than ford did
I have often found that to be the case as well and usually buy a different brand every couple years because it seems that the competing brand is more aggressive with the trade in.
On a seperste note, since I have had several GM trucks , I received their new brochure in the Silverado 1500. They had all these exterior photos which I think think they did a great job on BTW- but no interior pictures other then a picture of their version of the backup trailer camera zoomed into the lcd display only. My question is.... is the interior as weird as it looks online? It seems nothing goes together and buttons are in places they shouldn’t be and I’m wondering since Ram really nailed it with their interior GM is just going to market the exterior. Can you elaborate On the interior and functionality bs your f-250 interior?

to be honest the interior feels like previous gen Silverado’s beside the centering of the steering wheels the new camera angle additions but I’ve always felt as gm interiors have more a car feel than a truck my lariat I felt had a lot of hard plastic compared to soft feel leather material as this high country has but the buttons feel a little more dated then my lariat but your not gonna beat or even come close to the new ram interior with either truck another note the seats seem to feel more sporty than previous gen and my lariat also. But so far I’m pleased with the minor updates they have made

thanks for the reply. I actually think my 2011 Denali hd has the best interior and would still be relevant today. Everything flowed together and matched seamlessly at the ends/seams and had very minimal buttons compared to today’s vehicles . The navigation screen flowed into the cup holder which had the wood grain “cover” that could flip over to hide the cup holders when not in use. Reminded me of an early version of a Tesla- really clean/simple lines. Now it’s like every truck maker has to have the most amount of buttons and rugged lines that overlay each other and create unnecessary crevices ect. I personally would like to see ford come out with a middle stack like Tesla. Now of days, I feel older people have a better grasp on technology then I do so I don’t think there would be a large learning curve go straight to touch screen .
