I think chevy also does some kind of deactivation of certain cylinders to save some fuel?
They had what they called active fuel management or AFM from late 2007 till 2018. That system shutoff one bank of cylinders when under light loads. In 2019 they started dynamic skip fire or DSF. With DSF any cylinder is able to deactivate and the engine can go down to as little as 2 cylinders. I'm not positive but I believe the engine is constantly shutting down random cylinders.
I actually though the 2019 Silverado would be my next truck until I sat in one. Found the interior to be very cheap looking. Not what I expected for a truck costing almost $60k.
But as long as you like it Hope it treats you well.
Between the Chebby and the RAM MDS sytsem way to much tech.
Can't blame anyone looking for more MPG if towing is not a regular use of the truck.
Best of luck with your new rig. Hope it works out for you very well.
We all have our needs and buy accordingly. So no bashing here maybe just a little fun.
If I didn't have a tractor and shredding to do I'd kept the Tundra, oh wait that's a gas hog too. lol....
All the best to yah......drops by on occasion and keep us up to date on how da chebby is treating yah.
Nice truck. I've had a lot of Chevy trucks. None of them ever gave me any mechanical trouble. But every single one of them rusted out prematurely. Really my only, but really big beef.
Hopefully the new Alumiduty will hold up better in that respect for me.

more than one person around here has said that about the ford aswell lol
Did chevy ever get the steering wheel back in the center of the seat? The 2018s we got at work this summer still had it off center, hard to believe they couldn't figure it out over multiple generations of trucks. Super annoying. You'll love the mpg improvement for sure.
It does and automatic stop and start helps a ton with fuel also but feels weird shutting down at a red light
Dont kid yourself. After 15k on my F-150 with ***, it proves nothing for mileage, but certainly is working the longevity on my starter. It's purely an EPA gimmick in my book, that I'm paying for when my starter prematurely poops out. You'll see...
