Stainless trim clips

For those that have installed the stainless trim in the windshield rubber, is there room to install the clips AFTER you install the windshield? I seem to have misplaced the clips.

I didn't but don't see why you couldn't, slide it on one side then back onto the other section..

I was thinking that as well John but was trying to figure out if anyone had done it. I thought I read somewhere you could as well.

Thanks John. Can you elaborate on the trouble the installer had installing yours? I’ll probably have Harrier help me install mine. Did you cover your hood and fenders with something to prevent damage to your new paint? Any thought will be greatly appreciated.
My wife is glued to the TV watching political returns so I’m plotting my next moves on the 56.

I put my glass in before the cab was on the frame and the glass guy I hired didn't know what he was doing so the next day I took the glass back out and my wife and I installed it. Take your time installing the rubber on the windshield and then again installing the stainless trim. Use lots of tape to hold it in place from the underside of the outer lip on the rubber and up on the glass. Install your rope so the ends meant at top center. mix 25/75% dish soap and water and soak the rubber and spray around the window opening. Place the window centered in the opening and have someone put pressure while you start pulling the rope working a little from side to side. Take your time around the corners, pulling the rope in a circular motion helps the rubber pass over the lip. Once you get down to the bottom corners push in and up to help seat the glass in the opening while pulling the rope. It actually goes in all fairly quickly and the tape afterwards comes off really easy too because of the soapy solution..

Abe don’t tell her.

John, sounds just like installing a windshield without trim, less the tape. Thanks for the info.

The tape is like having an extra couple dozen hands to help and keeps the stainless trim in place. duct tape works really good
