F700 Check Codes

Hi, I have a 1994 F700 429 efi and the check engine light comes on about 45-60 seconds after starting evey time i start the truck. I have the eec connector under the dash on the passenger side and it has the little individual wire with it. I found several videos online about how to self test by jumping terminals or grounding the little wire etc. but none for this truck in particular. Any advisement on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

The procedure will be the same as any other Ford OBD1 vehicle.

Okay could anyone tell me the proper procedure? All of the videos I watched did it differently

Either works as long as the grounding system is not compromised. Signal ground = chassis ground, that connection is made either at or in the PCM module.

The previously provided link only went to a subset of the old Ford Fuel Injection website. You can see the complete contents of that site now at Fuel Injection Technical Library including the KOER testing procedure.

Okay thank you. I had a chance to try the koeo test and I grounded the STI to the negative battery and nothing happened. Turned the key on and the truck went through its normal sequence of fuel pump prime and a relay click along with all of the dash lights come on. But the check engine light just stayed solid. I then took my test light and ran it to the positive battery and touched the STO terminal and it did not light. Any suggestions to try from here?

Ground the STI connection to the signal ground pin in the EEC-IV connector per the instructions and see what happens.

Grounding the STI to the EEC connector on the SIG pin does not do anything. All dash lights stay on just like when grounding the STI to the battery
