anyone know how to do a jumper to get the codes out the computer on a 88 f-150 4.9

Go to fordfuelinjection.com for that information (OBD1 self test). You should find a list of the codes there as well. You can post back here anything you find for the EFI experts.

And if that completely confuses you... just find the STI wire in the EEC test harness and ground it, turn the key to run and count the flashes on the check engine light. The STI wire is the single wire with a grey connector.

Here is another code-reading and jumper hook-up resource (just leave out the test light/voltmeter and watch the check engine light) EEC IV Self Test hookup .

i followed the diagram from a website and my chk eng light doesnt blink any idea what i'm doing wrong
