I have a 2005 F150 Lariat Crew Cab (183,000 miles).
Lately been having some issues with the instrument panel and it only happens after startup, after a while it will return to normal. What happens is that sometimes my information display will flikker of an on and sometimes all my gauges are at 0 and the battery, service engine soon, brake and ABS lights are on, like I said, this happens after starting the truck and start driving but will stop after a minute or so and then be fine the rest of the way. It doesn't happen all the time. Someone else ever had this happen?
I had an issue similar to this with my 2006 Lariat. The information center display and gauges would flicker on and off, sometimes go out entirely. At the same time the "chime" would go off like the door was open. I found that smacking the dash would stop it for a while, sometimes the display would come on, sometimes it wouldn't. I don't think it recorded mileage while the display was off as well. The problem was a short at the back of the information center display, I ended up putting in a used cluster with miles similar to what my truck had at the time and that fixed all the issues.
