What Frame Do I Have?

I've been reading some of the posts regarding the various frames that Ford used on our F150's. But, I'm confused as to exactly which one I have.

Here is the frame sticker on my 2018 Max Tow 157" wheelbase with 18" wheels. Frame sticker states 156.8 4x4 HD at the bottom.

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

You did not get the heavy frame unfortunately. That is because you have to spec 20" wheels, also means you didn't get rear spring upgrade. Check your sway bar and see if you got the larger bar. The heavy frame trucks are marked HPP.

Thanks, that's what I expected but wanted to confirm. I'll take a look at the sway bar. What should I be seeing if I have the larger bar?

The bar is a large 32mm bar I believe and visually looks massive on a F150.

Good news is all the 157" trucks get .10 standard frame thickness. The HPP gets you .11 thickness so its negligible but it does somehow add 108 pounds somewhere in the frame. The LD regular frame F150 trucks get .087 frame.

OK, that makes sense. Thanks.

I'll be interested in seeing what bar I have, but I'm betting I have the larger one.

I have the same configuration, but with 20” wheels....I think I have the same frame as you. It’s a heavier duty frame, but not the heaviest duty frame.

If you have max tow and 157" wb with factory 20" wheels then you will have the heaviest frame available. Check your tag it will say HPP and that is the .011 frame.

Where exactly is that tag located? Do you suppose it would still be readable after 3 years? Ours is the 157" wheelbase, so I know I at least have the HD frame, but it would be interesting to look just the same.

It should be almost directly under the passenger side front door.

The frames are .100 for HD and .110 for the HPP for the 157" WB.

That's what I figured I just didn't want anybody think the frames were only .010 thick.
