Regen question

Forscan on a laptop with an extended license also has the ability to do a commanded regen in the driveway. Ive used it a couple times on my '11 as im also one of these guys who frequently doesnt see much highway driving.

Instead of doing a complete DPF delete, and assuming your dpf is on a pickup frame and not a chassis frame (so that it is last in the line before the tailpipe), could you just disconnect the tailpipe from the back end of the dpf and drill several large diameter holes (say about 3/4 or one inch) all the way through the filter? My thinking is that this would decrease the back pressure differential enough to almost eliminate regens but not throw codes. Anyone?? My truck is an F350 dually 4x4. 2016 model

The PCM commands an active regeneration at a programmed interval, such as 500 miles regardless of pressure (soot gpl). I'd say it's cheaper in the long run to delete and then it can be reinstalled in working order if you sell it. The filter assembly is $3,806 list.

DPF / EGR delete and your issue is solved. For my '15 I was just waiting to hit 100k miles, warranty concerns, etc. but sold it before that milestone hit and I have heard of plenty that don't wait. No issues doing the delete in Florida.
