I've had an intermittant ABS light come and go on the gauge cluster for over a year. When I read Mark Kovalsky's comments about the computer receiving vehicle speed data from the ABS that got me thinking. My mpg has always been locked at 11mpg, in town or hiway it seems to be the same. Could this missing data be costing me correct fuel delivery? My 94 sensors read 2.8K ohms and I wanted to show you the condition of the tone gear and sensor tip before cleaning. The light is now out but I want to clean or replace the rearend sensor soon. I'll report if there are any mileage improvements.
The sensor in the rearend is probably fine. It's bathed in gear oil. Doesn't really get dirty unless your gear oil hasn't been changed in a few hundred thousand miles.
