I think this sort of thing swings like a pendulum. Maybe many or most of us won't be around long enough to see it, but I'm sure it will swing the other way. My biggest issue is that it seems to swing too far sometimes.
I agree completely. I'm just thinking when it does, we won't have the typical parties we have now.
As for the swinging too far, whether it's too far left or too far right, by definition it's extreme. When a person has extreme viewpoints there's no room for anything that differs and we all suffer, IMO.

You'll get no argument from me on that one. The winner take all attitude is very corrosive.
Happy Friday all! Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend, an make sure to thank a Vet when you see one.
I don't know if I will be taking advantage of the free meals this Veteran's day as I might have my grand kids here, and I don't want to eat alone, or in front of them since I cannot afford to buy meals for them too since I have to pay the remainder of the down payment on the Sienna. If they don't come over, then I will go.
In The City, most of us go to local restaurants in the neighborhood, where we get to know the owners. Off the top of my head, a good steak would come from Harris, and while not technically a steak, The House of Prime Rib.
City people are weird like that. A lot of us do not go to "corporate dining" or chain restaurants. When I lived in NYC, we always went to Peter Luger & DelMonicoshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7JgnvjMRd4
.
Once upon a time, Harris' Restaurant was a closely related, once removed, part of the Harris Ranch family. You guys could drive down to Coalinga for Harris Ranch.
