Rebuilding a pullrite travel trailer hitch

I bought an e350 with a pullrite on it. It was bent down and stuck in the center position.
. I talked to my local trailer store and they were of no help. I needed to replace the bearings and build a new swing arm.

So I found my own bearings and rebuilt the whole deal. The original design had it pivot on a 1 inch bolt with no grease fitting. Mine was frozen and I had to cut it apart to get it off the van. I added a zero fitting to the pivot. I increased bearings from 4 to 6. Also they bent the tube and added braces. Didn't look good. I changed that too.

IIRC one was easier to hook up if you were off center you could swing it to line up and drop on the ball.
I think the other was you could turn tighter, jack it in, as now the ball is at the corner of the pull unit not in the center.

Because it makes a conventional trailer act like a fifth wheel trailer. It eliminates sway. I had an E350 with a Pull-Rite. It worked great!
