Last night my alarm went off a few time without warrant.
I parked my truck, 10 min later the alarm goes off, 5 minutes after that again. So I go out, start the truck, roll windows up/down. Open/close all the doors. I was thinking it’s a alarm safety feature letting me know something was not closed.
No problems for about 4hrs. Then it goes off again. This time shorter horn honking and turned off it’s self.
I do do not have the interior sensors that some of the other trucks have. (17 ccsb/6.2/xlt premium/sync )
Purely a guess but have you checked the batteries? I've seen some really weird electrical nuances when batteries become weak. Keep us posted on what you discover.
Be careful...that's an old trick to keep setting off a car alarm until the owner becomes frustrated and turns the alarm off. Be sure someone isn't toying with you.
funny you mentioning that, I took a 2 hr drive before all this and during I have my dash say “hood unlatched” but if when away with in 5 seconds.
I know on the ranger all I did was disconnect the sensor and it never went off again. Silly question. Did you check to make sure hood is all the way down?
My truck did the same sorta thing. Alarm went off at 4AM. I look outside and see nothing. Turn off alarm and say it must have been a cat jumping up. Go back to bed and bam 5 mins later same thing. i turn it off and look again nothing. So i decided to auto start and let it run for a minute and turned it off. Hasn't happened since then. So it was a cat is my guess. But i've been paying attention more to who is driving through the hood lately. But i figure it they want it I'm not gonna stop them and that's why i have good insurance.
