My drivers door window doesn't always work nowdays-I think it may be in a relay of some sort for the automatic feature....
It was only doing this trying to go down, but today it failed to go up....
I can hear the relay of something under the dash somewhere clicking when I push the button on the control....
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how can I fix this?
Thanks All!!
I believe the auto down is in the switch itself. I think it's kinda like a circuit breaker that trips once the window bottoms out and the motor draw jumps from locking out.
My guess is that your window motor is going out. Try holding the up button and banging on the door panel or shutting the door. If the motor's wearing out a good bump might kick it in to close the window.
I'm understanding that there is a GEM module under the dash that controls the window. The clicking is under the dash where they say this module is.....Is there a way to test this? I guess I need to start with testing the motor itself? then the switch?
I'm going to dig into it tomorrow hopefully, I'm now thinking the motor has failed......do auto electric shops rebuild these? I really don't want to buy a Chinese POS....
