Yeah, I bought a new 140amp alternator as well. When I talked with Ed I just didnt have the $$ to do it but, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and go for the large "Ambulance" alternator to make sure I keep plenty of volts going to FICM. I will have to upgrade the wiring though to handle the energy transfer. Ed has all that. I dont want to go higher than Atlas 40 tune as 1 I dont have any way to monitor my EGT and 2, I dont have the upgraded ARP head studs. So far the Atlas 40 had been good, I'm very pleased with it. Will be taking a trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks. Can't wait to see how truck does on fuel milage.
Get the CTS2 for monitoring along with the EGT probe. Ed has them on the shelf. I also picked up the Leece-Neville from him when I was reliability proofing the truck. First road trip was from San Diego to Des Moines Iowa towing my 'race car'. Truck ran great, picked up the CTS2 when I dropped the old ficm off at Ed's. Watched EGT's on the way back with the miata on the trailer, never got over 1200 even in Colorado over Loveland Pass. See about 14mpg's towing. Saw the same with the jeep on the trailer. Just turned over 10k on the truck since replacing the oil cooler with the bulletproof air/oil, and tossing the alternator and ficm in. Figured you'd like the Atlas 40, I'm debating just getting the tuner and playing with the 80 also as my truck is studded. I have it in my cart on his site, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
