Speaker upgrade question.
So I have an 18 xlt with the 4” screen but 7 speaker system. Center speaker etc. I got a set of stock platinum Sony speakers for the doors and the subwoofer. I know the sub can’t be installed so i might just sell it. But, as far as the door speakers and center speaker goes. Would installing the platinum Sony stock speakers be an upgrade? Or a waste of time?

It's an upgrade in my opinion. I did such. Bought off of a FTE forum member. I had tried some Alpines, Polks and Rockfords. The OEM Sonys were the most efficient and fullest sounding.

Hmm interesting thanks for the reply. And I’m assuming they just plug right in since they have like normal plugs attached to the housing correct?
I know a lot of people with the Sony system said they suck and they take them out and upgrade to aftermarket. That’s why I was unsure if it was worth it. Only thing I don’t have is the tweeters for replacing the ones In a pillars. Wonder what I should do with those?

Hmm gotcha. I might get a pair of aftermarket ones and just splice a factory connector on it if possible. I don’t want to cut up my factory harness. What would you want for the tweeters. Just out of curiosity? I have to get a 3.5” for the center speaker also. All I have is the four doors and the sub
