Trying to figure out this question. 8 inch wide factory wheel with +40mm offset vs a 9 inch wide wheel with a +6 offset. How much further out will the aftermarket wheel protrude? I’m thinking 1.84 inches or 47mm... but am I correct?
So going from the oem +40 8 inch wheel to a +12 9.5 inch wheel will move the wheel out (inside edge) by 8.95 mm or .35 inches. The outside edge would move out 47.05mm or 1.85 inches.
I guess I’m trying to figure out where the center of the wheel will ultimately land this allowing my to calculate where the tire edge will land both inside and out.
Ok so now I’m looking at a 9 inch wide wheel at +12 offset. The idea is I want 37x12.5 snow tires that don’t rub and don’t stick out very far. I’d live with 37x11.5 but nobody makes a snow tire that size. So it’s either 35x12.5, 35x11.5, or 37x12.5. Based on how my tires fit currently with OEM wheels I am sure that 35x12.5 would fit. 37x12.5 “May” fit if I get the right wheels. I’m just rambling here.... I think I’m gonna just order a 20x9+12 wheel and a 37x12.5 snow tire..... worst case scenario I go with a 35x11.5 snow tire and be done with it
37, not sure, you'll need to push it out a little bit from the stock +40 to make sure you dont hit the radius/sway. Not sure exactly how much, but I'm pretty sure a 0 clears it everywhere.

My wheels are 20x9 on 37x12.50 tires and I think a -12 offset. Had to trim the valence and it did rub on the wheel well at first, but I’ve got knobbing mud tires.
Hmm... strange. I have 37 inch tires on already and they are not close to the valance. I do however want black rhinos although I wanted the Armory the Warlord fits the truck better so I’ll go with them. 37x12.5 should fit no problem
Wait.... you must not have any level or lift right? My 2 inch level probably moves my tires back enough so the bumper or valance is not an issue? My issue is the radius arms. Not terrible but does rub at full lock with 37x11.5 and oem wheels

Yes, but I think I’m an inch wider on both the rims and tires than you (see my signature). Plus my offset -12 so my backspacing is probably different.
