IMO, why open a can of potential worms when you can keep it isolated from everything else? I’ll keep my LED designated for the GPR, no splicing etc.

looks like you could snip the Black Pink wire and then run it to the GPR.

Do not do this. A burnt out Wait to Start bulb can cause a SES light to come on. Cutting the line to the ECM might cause the same thing.

OK keep the pcm signal intact by installing a diode, that way the WTS light gets a Auto timer from the pcm and the actual glow plug on time. Or just put a resistor in place of the bulb... it ain’t rocket science

More than likely the PCM grounds out the WTS circuit. If so, just splice a wire from the Bk/Pk wire to a relay that grounds out when the GPR is active. If I had the GPR circuit in front of me, I'd see about just using the GPR signal wire itself to ground out the WTS light (like trucks use to be). As far as backfeeding issues, diodes are your friend.

Of course that is all quite a bit more involved than the LED mod is...

I like the idea of running the signal through the WTS light. This makes it easier to keep other people from making a mistake.
In my truck I can actually see the factory voltmeter move when the GPR goes off but it is subtle. I would not expect someone unfamiliar with the truck to see it.

Since I am unfamiliar with the proper start procedure, are you supposed to wait until the GPR turns off on all cold starts? Or only on cold ambient starts. What is that, below 40-50?

dont think theres a "proper" or "supposed" to way, in starting related to the gpr led..some(myself included) even on a 90* morning, if that led lights up, im waiting. Others, would rather not have the extra strain on the batteries letting it run the cycle. When wts goes out, their pop'n off the motor. By allowing the gpr led do its course, you know then that the starter is getn full flow to it and not getn shared..thats ny spare change of the day.
