Whoa - I hope “hearing of similar problems” where a fire starts in the dash and ends like that is literally unheard of. This is not like a leaky door seal or static in the FM reception...
That’s a horrible fire and I hope it’s a once in a lifetime occurrence. Like others said - hope everyone was safe. With four doors open, it looks like the cab was full!
From the photos I’m hopeful you got out without injury. There have been some fires, even some during initial mule testing, and of course the seat belt retentioner fires. Years ago, 1978 to be exact I had a battery cause an engine fire in a Ford E150 van. Stuff happens, hope everyone got out safely, but them aluminum trucks certainly make for some interesting photos, sort of like a burned up candle.
