When I do another t4 I will do it different. Assuming it is in a superduty truck I will use the CSD up pipes, Mounting plate in the valley, downpipe oil supply/return, and intake from filter to turbo.

Changes to make. I will modify the stock intake Y (remove the "hot" side of it so it is just the cold side), and drivers side intercooler piping (add what is needed to get it to the t4 style turbo).
same...what is the reason for your changes?

I am assuming if I did what I said above it would come out as a little less money up front and a little more install time. If I do another one It would be on a second truck so I could afford a little more downtime.

I work with bent tubing daily and understand production tolerances. Granted our tubing is 1/4" to 1/2" OD. Looking at the parts I bought they are well within the tolerances I work with but could be a tiny bit better. The driver side intercooler pipe would be custom fit to my truck. It would be routed the way I want. Either the stock pipe with another piece like I ran temporary but made a little nicer or custom from scratch.

I can see that.
What is the advantage of using the stock Y with the hot side cutoff? Fittings?

You can buy a 'kit' with everything needed to install a T4 style turbo from Carson OR you can buy the individual parts. I suspect Brandon wants to buy the turbo mount/up-pipes and then save the coin and DIY the rest.

Was wondering about clearancing the stock Y pipe and if it would fit. Saves some time and money. Anyone cut and weld the stock IC hot pipe to fit the T4?

Also rather expensive for what they give you, I’m surprised there are more kits out there that aren’t advertised at all.

ATS isn't far from me, and from most of the reviews I have read, they do not have a very good reputation with Powerstroke owners.

I called them a couple times during my research phases for injectors/turbo/etc. and got bad impressions. One of the kids working there claimed he got 28 MPGs in his OBS after he put in 250cc injectors. Right....
