FordPass Smartlink?

What ( if anything ) can I do in order to use this on my 2015 F-350? I would like the ability to remote start / lock/ unlock the truck from this app. I read you have to have something installed by the dealer. Is it worth it and any one have any idea on cost?

Might be worth it or might not be. The cost of the OBDII module I have not seen. The monthly cost is $17 a month for 2 years. Does NOT include data for hot spot that is purchased from Verizon. Doubt many Ford dealers are aware of the module but who knows, they might have knowledge and the price.

I added similar capability to mine with the older system. I think my annual subscription is around 60 vs the 17 or so month stated here. Install is as easy bolting in place behind existing OBDII. If your key will reach now, I see no benefit, if you have to park several hundred yards away and want to start say from inside office building or such, it is great. Would I do it again? Yes, though I have only used it in the winter time, don't think I ever started it with the app through out this summer...

I was able to find the part info and check a Ford dealer online that has great pricing. However, it is still $309 so not sure it is worth the expense.

There are limited dealers that have the kits and are authorized to install. Yes there is things that the dealer must turn on, and codes that must be gotten from Ford.
From the reading I have done the kits run $300 plus and include 2 years of the service that lets you remote start and locate the truck with a smartphone.
The WiFi hotspot is through Verizon, you have too pay extra for that $10 a month to add to your current plan, or $50 if you don't have a plan. You do get a month of the WiFi free when the Smart link is activated.
I was really interested in it until my local dealer had and installed price of over $600. The only thing I think I would use it for is to remote start with my phone when I was at work. It is too far from my work area to the parking lot for the remote start to work. It would be nice to start the truck in cold weather 10 min before I get to the truck.
There are a few threads on the 2017+ superduty forum about it.
