Truck idles for about 5 minutes then dies. Driving down the road it has started to erratically shift between 3-4th gears. I ran FORSCAN and found the following codes.
p0476,c1284,p0284,p1536,p0220,p1780,p0565,66,67,68 and 69,p0571,p0703.
Can the PCM be going out and all these coded are just a by-product of different circuits not being able to talk to each other?
Forscan says my trucks PCMs part number is 2C3FDE but my units actually says it is 2c3f-12A650-DE.
I would hate to buy a new one if this one can either be reset or reprogrammed.
Your reasoning doesn’t make a sense to me, I think you just have a cruise control issue as well as a back pressure issue like a clogged tube to the sensor. Fix the codes and your running issue and pcm concern should be resolved.
but if you do need pcm work done there is only one place I would go. https://www.dieseltechchatt.com/

Thanks for the reply. I only came up with the idea of the PCM due to an exchange I had with a tech on fixya.com
I did see a code for Exhaust back pressure so I will start there by cleaning out the tube and replacing the sensor.
Maybe I am just being to specific but the “diffrent circuits” do not talk to each other. The pcm has inputs and outputs and all the circuits talk to the PCM not each other.
if the pcm was not communicating with a circuit you would have PCM codes or a open/short circuit code.
