Hope my photos can help someone identify what I actually have, and perhaps lead me to the standard shift collar, to replace the auto shift collar.
Why would you want a shift collar? None was used w/a 4 speed originally. This was used instead:
D9TZ-3790-A (replaced D8TZ-3790-B) .. Steering Column Tube Extension (takes the place of the shift collar w/a 4 speed) / Use with Tilt Steering Wheel / Obsolete
1978/79 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline.
btw: 1965/79 Passenger Cars; 1978/91 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline; 1980 Granada/Monarch/Versailles: Tilt wheel operated by pressing the T/S handle forward.
Probably 50% of the people that own these vehicles are unaware they have a tilt wheel.
Thanks very much Bill, and now I know what I have. I only thought of the collar, below the upper part, that holds the directional mechanism, because on evilbay, most of the after market tilt columns, have a reducing collar to blend the tilt head, into the column... Now, the auto columns had a collar, with the auto shift stick in it, and I assumed that some sort of reducing faring had been used. I am looking at a black 4" funnel, which may do the dame job, and cover up the part of the column that is open, below the tilt head... Sometimes, I just have to invent parts, that are not available..., or were never manufactured originally.. We'll see what I can come up with...
