I have a 89 Truck that I'm converting from auto trans to manual. Since I have to take steering column out, I will rebuild parts of the column. The problem is that the tilt steering does not stay put. It tilts up (top away from driver) wherever it is put. Attached is the parts breakdown from LMC.
I'm thinking I need to replace the column bearings, top and upper, and retainer bearing. For the tilt problem I'm thinking the actuator assembly will also need to be replaced. Any advice on this?
